Holidays (overview)
My newer articles/lessons about holidays include the Fourth of July, Juneteenth, Flag Day, Halloween, Columbus Day, Mother’s Day and Father’s Day (suggesting an in-class art project). You’ll also find a poem about Mothers/Fathers, and articles about Christmas: Advent, Candy Canes, and Santa Claus (there’s another on my other site: Finding Christmas Anew). You can also find Study Guides for several holiday films at EFLsuccess.com:, including Family Man (Christmas to Valentines’ Day), Groundhog Day, Last Holiday, The Robe (Easter), The Sand Lot (July 4), Steel Magnolias (several holidays are shown), Snoopy’s Christmas, and White Christmas.
Use the drop-down menu to find other topics. While we wait for me to find more time to be a webmaster, you can find more holiday resources at my old website: www.krigline.com/holidays.htm.
You can also find holiday lessons at eslholidaylessons.com and at ELcivics.com/holiday-lessons-usa.
Let the holidays inspire you to express thanks by helping others! Here’s a nice list of “service activities” to consider. [www.signupgenius.com/home/community-service-ideas-families…]
